If pushing force is further increased, the friction force can  not <strong>balance<\/strong> it anymore, and the <strong>body<\/strong> starts <strong>sliding<\/strong>. As soon as the body has started in <strong>motion<\/strong>, the magnitude of friction force drops from maximum to a lower value. This happens because less <strong>interpenetration<\/strong> occurs between the <strong>irregularities<\/strong> of the <strong>surfaces<\/strong> in <strong>contact<\/strong> when these surfaces move with respect to each other.
