The significance of the assumption that <strong>panels<\/strong> are plane surfaces is that it defines the geometrical relationships between all parts on the panel and its boundary of <strong>yield lines<\/strong> and supports. If we know the angle of rotation of the panel and its plane dimensions, we can determine the slope of any line within the panel.
