{"id":4700,"date":"2022-01-15T22:57:01","date_gmt":"2022-01-15T19:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ekvilibris.lt\/?p=4700"},"modified":"2022-01-15T22:57:03","modified_gmt":"2022-01-15T19:57:03","slug":"ek543","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ekvilibris.lt\/?p=4700","title":{"rendered":"EK543"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When the pull on the <strong>bar<\/strong> is small, high <strong>stresses<\/strong> develop near the loaded end of the bar; some <strong>slip<\/strong> of the bar occurs as <strong>adhesion<\/strong> between the bar and the <strong>concrete<\/strong> in this region breaks down and as <strong>steel ribs<\/strong> begin to <strong>crush<\/strong> part of the concrete between the ribs. <strong>Failure<\/strong> can occur at this early stage if concrete surrounding the bar is unconfined. If some degree of <strong>confinement<\/strong> is present, a rise in <strong>load<\/strong> tends to shift the <strong>bond stress<\/strong> diagram deeper along the bar engaging additional ribs to resist the additional load. In some instances, especially when the level of confinement is low around the loaded end of the bar, bond resistance near the<br><strong>surface<\/strong> can be reduced to zero due to extensive <strong>cracking<\/strong> and <strong>cone breakouts<\/strong> formed in the concrete. As load is increased to maximum levels, shifting of the bond stress diagram continues as bond stress peaks<br>move deeper along the confined region of the bar.
