When the location and distribution of the walls are such that their centre of resistance coincides closely with the centre of the mass and the geometric centroid of the complete building, the distribution of horizontal loads is proportional to their flexural stffness. If the walls are more squat, i.e., its height to length is less than 3, shear deflection will govern and the load distribution will be a function of the shear stiffness of the wall elements.
